Final Recommendations - Orly Happy Go Lucky Collection

Hey guys!

So after swatching, reviewing and comparing all four shades from the Orly Happy Go Lucky Collection, I have some final words/recommendations.

This post will also serve as an easy access page where you can find links to all of the swatches, reviews and comparisons from this collection that I've done.

Review & Swatches - Orly Happy Go Lucky Collection
Swatch Comparison - Orly Frisky
Swatch Comparison - Orly Frolic
Swatch Comparison - Orly Fresh
Swatch Comparison - Orly Flirty

In the end, Frolic surprisingly ended up being the most unique of all four shades and I had nothing else close to it in my collection. Flirty comes second in the unique race and although I had a couple of shades that were similar in one respect or another (i.e. base colour/finish), nothing was quite like Flirty. These 2 shades would be the ones I would recommend first from this collection.

Unless you're a complete polish addict like myself and need every variation of every shade, I would skip Frisky if you already own China Glaze For Audrey.

Additionally, I would skip Fresh altogether, even if you don't own a grassy green shade, because I didn't find the formula to be very good and there are some better alternatives available.

Overall, Orly's Happy Go Lucky Collection is a short and sweet one with a few shades that are deceptively unique.

The Orly Happy Go Lucky Collection Lacquers are available now for approximately $6-7, depending on where you live. ORLY Nail Lacquers and Treatment products are available at orlybeauty.com, Sally Beauty, Ulta and other purveyors of beauty throughout the U.S. and in over 100 countries worldwide.

I've decided to start making these full collection comparisons/final recommendations a regular thing on my blog so hopefully it's something you guys like. :)

Swatch Comparison - Pink Shimmers (featuring Orly Flirty)

Hey!

This will be the final comparison post for the Orly Happy Go Lucky Collection and it will feature the pink shimmer shade - Orly Flirty.

You can find my original review and swatches of all 4 shades from this collection here.

I'll also do a final recommendations type of post that will sum up the entire collection as well as all 4 comparison posts so that there will be one easy access post for everything to do with this collection.

Keep reading for the comparison!

Like the other shades from this collection, there is no dupe, at least from my stash, for Orly Flirty. This was the one I least expected to find a dupe for anyways so I'm not surprised that I couldn't find one.

The finish of Orly Flirty and OPI Flower-to-Flower is exactly the same with the same kind of shimmer but the colours are very clearly different.

In terms of base colour, the closest to Flirty is definitely Wet 'n' Wild How I Met Your Magenta but that shimmer that makes Flirty special isn't really there in How I Met Your Magenta. Additionally, How I Met Your Magenta dried to a vinyl-like finish while Flirty is shiny and shimmery without top coat.

Color Club Space Case is also close to Flirty in base colour, although they're not entirely alike - Flirty is more of a hot pink while Space Case is more of a barbie pink.

OPI La Paz-itively Hot is probably the farthest away from being a dupe of Orly Flirty because it's not similar in finish or colour.

What do you guys think? Are any of these shades close enough to Flirty to deter you from picking it up yourself?

My Current Project - "Untrieds" Drawer

Hey!

I thought that tonight I would show you guys my current project as well as give you a sneak peak into my nail polish collection (and I promise you there is a full collection post coming asap).

This is my "Untrieds" drawer where I hold all of my recent nail polish purchases until I swatch them for you and on my own nail wheels. Usually I swatch polishes for you within the first couple of days of getting them but for my own wheels, I typically have a swatching marathon once every couple of weeks, but this varies depending on how many I've acquired, really.
However, I've neglected my own wheels lately and it's left me with quite a large drawer of untrieds, or unswatched if you prefer.

Keep reading for more photos and a full list of the polishes you see above.

So what do you see here?

At the back of the drawer are my newly acquired Nfu-Oh Holographic polishes (I mentioned these in this haul post and #61 and #65 arrived today).

In front of those we have the Orly Happy Go Lucky Collection as well as 4 colours from last year's Orly Sweet Collection which Sally's recently started carrying as open stock.

Continuing down the left side we have a slew of OPI polishes including the Katy Perry Collection, the Texas Collection, the Blue-Hued Shatters, the OPI Serena Williams Glam Slam! England duos, OPI Red and White Shatter from the Glam Slam France duos, and a few OPI DS Series polishes including Original, Classic and Reflection.

Moving over the right side of the drawer, we have a number of China Glaze polishes in the front including the Crackle Metals Collection, the original Crackle Collection and 5 shades from the Tronica Collection (as mentioned in this haul post).

Behind the China Glaze polishes we have 2 Revlon colours - Royal and Perplex.

And last but not least, at the back of the drawer on the right hand side, we have a number of Essie polishes including the Resort 2011 Collection, the Braziliant Collection as well as a few open stock colours that I've accumulated.

So that's it for my untrieds drawer! I think a swatching marathon is way overdue.
Did you guys keep an "untrieds" drawer? Has it gotten as out of hand as mine has?
